In short
- No analytics, advertising or profiling cookies.
- One cookie remembers your choice; a security cookie may be set to block bots.
- YouTube videos only load, and store data, if you allow embedded media.
- You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer.
01What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your device or remember information between visits. Similar technologies, such as local storage or IndexedDB, work the same way and are covered by this policy too. We call them all “cookies” here.
02Strictly necessary cookies
These are needed for the website to work or to provide something you asked for, so the law doesn’t require consent for them. They can’t be switched off from the settings panel.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
aw_consent | Allway (first party) | Remembers your choice in the cookie banner, so we don’t ask again on every page. | 12 months |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare (first party, on allway.ai) | Only set when Cloudflare needs to tell people from bots, to protect the site against attacks. | 30 minutes |
03Embedded media (requires consent)
Some pages include YouTube videos. The player isn’t loaded until you press play and allow “Embedded media”. From then on, YouTube may store the following on your device under Google’s cookie policy, to play the video, remember your player settings and measure use of its service:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
YSC | Google (YouTube) | Identifies the playback session and counts views. | Session |
VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE | Google (YouTube) | Estimates bandwidth and remembers player preferences. | About 6 months |
VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA | Google (YouTube) | Stores the visitor’s consent state for YouTube. | About 6 months |
yt-remote-*, ytidb::* | Google (YouTube) | Local storage and IndexedDB entries for the player’s settings and casting. | Until deleted |
Google acts as an independent controller of this data and may transfer it outside the EU. The exact names may change when Google updates its player.
04How to accept, reject or withdraw consent
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept all, reject all or customise optional cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and nothing optional runs until you choose. We store your choice for 12 months, then ask again.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it:
Cookie settings are also linked from the footer of every page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. If you delete the consent cookie, the banner will appear again.
05Updates
We review this policy whenever we add or change a cookie. If we add a new optional category, we will ask for your consent again before using it. For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy policy. Questions: [email protected].
